Dr. Reshma Kamal got her Ph.D. from the University of New Mexico in 2013. She earned her Ed.M. in Counseling Psychology from Columbia University Teacherâ€™s college in New York. Dr. Reshma Kamal has been a therapist for the past 20 years. Dr. Kamal has a deep understanding of the issues faced by the Muslim community. She strongly believes that â€śoneâ€™s life is entangled in our family roots and affects us in all that we undertake.â€ť Thus, as one who believes that we are always part â€śof a greater systemâ€ť, her goal in her therapeutic work has been to look at the environment of the individual and look at the whole picture. Her counseling work includes being sensitive to a personâ€™s value system encompassing the differences in culture, religion, and identity. She is very well trained with cross-cultural counseling and with helping people from all walks of life and with all different ages. Her work focuses on individual, couple, and family therapy.
